2. Data we may collect
The quote form asks for your first and last name, telephone number, required service, project type, and the district and municipality where the work will take place. Your email address and short message are optional. We may also process information that you choose to share in later conversations.
When you send a speculative application, we collect your name, mobile phone number, the type of role you are interested in, years of experience, a brief description of your professional experience, your availability to start and whether you hold a driving licence. Your email address is optional.
Our hosting service may record technical data that is strictly necessary for the security and operation of the website, such as your IP address, access date and time, and browser information.
3. Speculative applications
The information submitted through the Work With Us page is used solely to assess your application and, where a suitable opportunity exists, to contact you about that application.
We do not maintain a candidate database for future opportunities and do not ask for consent to retain applications for that purpose.
Processing required for the application is based on pre-contractual steps taken at the candidate's request and, where applicable, compliance with legal obligations. Confirming that you have read this policy does not constitute consent for additional purposes.
4. Purposes and legal basis
We use the information submitted through the quote request form to respond to your enquiry, understand the project, prepare a potential quote and take pre-contractual steps requested by you.
Application data is used to assess the application submitted and contact the candidate where there is interest or a suitable opportunity.
Technical information may be processed to protect the website, prevent abuse, limit automated submissions and keep the service operational.
Where applicable, processing is based on pre-contractual steps taken at your request, compliance with legal obligations and legitimate interests in website security and management.
We do not use these contact details for advertising unless there is a separate lawful basis to do so.
5. Data retention
Quote requests that do not lead to a contractual relationship are generally retained for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and for no longer than 12 months after the last contact. Where a contract or legal obligation exists, certain information may be kept for the period required to meet that obligation.
Information submitted through a speculative application is retained for a maximum of 60 days from the date of submission and deleted at the end of that period. If the candidate is selected, the information required for the hiring process will then be processed in accordance with the obligations applicable to the employment relationship.
Technical logs are retained according to the periods applied by the providers used for hosting, security and communications, limited to what is necessary for those purposes.
6. Sharing and international transfers
The website uses OpenAI Sites and associated technology infrastructure, including Cloudflare services, for hosting, security and delivery. Forms are sent through Resend and received in JVAF's professional mailbox, supported by OVH/Zimbra.
Application data is not stored in a public website database: it is sent through Resend to JVAF's mailbox. These providers process data only to the extent needed to provide their services. JVAF does not sell personal data.
Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, legally required safeguards must be used, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
7. WhatsApp and external services
If you contact us through WhatsApp, that service will also process your data under its own terms and privacy policy.
8. Your rights
Where applicable, you may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restriction of processing, object to processing or request data portability. You can exercise these rights using the email address above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese National Data Protection Commission.
9. Cookies, analytics and changes
JVAF does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies on this website. Essential technical mechanisms may be used to operate and secure the hosting platform. Any future cookie-free technical measurement must not receive personal data submitted through the forms.
We may update this policy to reflect legal, technical or operational changes. The date of the latest version will always be shown on this page.
